Superman: Legacy Cast Unveiled As David Corenswet And Rachel Brosnahan

As per IMDB, the Awaited Superman movie Superman: Legacy is said to be released on July 2025. The speculation about who would be playing the role of Superman and his girlfriend Louis Lane in the movie has come to an end with the announcement by James Gunn of DC Studios, that it would be played by David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan. The two are legendary characters and important for the success of the movie. They both were among six actors who were gunning for lead roles. Among them, Nicholas Hoult and Tom Brittney were in the race to play Superman, whereas Emma Mackey and Phoebe Dynevor were in the running for Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane.

David Corenswet is from Philadelphia and before this played an important role in Netflix`s The Politician. When he first appeared in The Politician, the net was abuzz with his resemblance with then Superman the British actor Henry Cavill. Knowing this fact he intended to play Superman one day.

He has been acting since his childhood day when he was just nine years old. But after graduating from Juilliard in 2016 he started enrolling for guest starring roles on television. But he got a major break in Netflix’s The Politician. 2022 was another successful year for the actor when he played in David Simon’s latest HBO original, We Own This City which was about corruption within the Baltimore Police Force.

Racheal Brosnahan is more known among the two, who has played an award-winning role in the TV show The Marvelous Mrs Maisel picking Emmy and two Golden Globe awards for her acting. She played the Jewish Character in the show which was about Midge Maisel, a 1950s Jewish housewife who tries to pursue her career in stand-up comedy when her marriage fails. Since childhood, she had exposure to Jewish culture which helped her in doing justice to the role. She enjoyed it and said she was “happily immersed” in Jewish culture while playing the role., Before this, she appeared in films Beautiful Creatures(2013), The Courier (2020) and I’m your woman(2020).

The announcement about who would be playing both the roles of important characters was made by James Gunn, who heads DS Studios along with Peter Safran on Twitter. It was confirmed by Warner Bros.
